Adding Photo Albums

Someone in class asked last night about a way to auto-generate photo albums in Expression Web (EW). This was a feature in FrontPage that was discontinued in EW. I found this when I searched for “Why was the FrontPage Photo Gallery feature discontinued in Expression Web“:
When existing FrontPage users first take a look at Expression Web, they may experience a tinge of concern when they find that certain web components, such as the photo gallery and form pages, are missing. However, there are good reasons for the absence of these items. In addition to being extremely hard to customize, these components created proprietary code that did not meet W3C standards. As Expression Web places great emphasis on being able to create standards-based web sites, these components were not included.

I also found this recommendation for the “Web Album Generator” program on the ” Expression Web Tutorials and Templates” web site:
Someone on the FreePages Mailing List recommended Web Album Generator as free software to make web albums and photo galleries from your digital photographs. Curious, I decided to check it out as genealogists use lots of image files in working on their website. It is the first program I have tried that actually created code that validated on the first try. Kudos, to Mark McIntyre the programs creator.
